‘Steamed Hams’ is a classic Simpsons sketch, an escalating series of old-school blunders that goes down in the middle of the episode 22 Short Films About Springfield. It’s also one of the greatest memes on the internet.
The sketch has had a long tail. Although it was instantly revered by Simpsons superfans as a perfect set of jokes in a perfect episode, it took a couple of years before it really reached cultural saturation point. Over the last 24 months, it’s been endlessly remixed, spliced up, shitposted and remade.
