There’s An All New ‘Star Wars’ Film Trilogy And Live-Action TV Show On The Way
Non-stop 'Star Wars'.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi won’t hit cinemas for another month but today Disney and Lucasfilm announced they have green-lit an entirely new trilogy set in the Star Wars universe from the film’s director, Rian Johnson.
According to Disney, Johnson will write and direct the first instalment in the new series which will be produced by Ram Bergman, the producer behind The Last Jedi. Plot details are still very scarce but we know that the trilogy won’t focus on the Skywalker saga and will instead “introduce new characters from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored”.
“We all loved working with Rian on The Last Jedi,” said Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm. “He’s a creative force, and watching him craft The Last Jedi from start to finish was one of the great joys of my career. Rian will do amazing things with the blank canvas of this new trilogy.”
I've heard stupidly great, first-hand stories about Rian Johnson's experience with Star Wars. I can't wait to see The Last Jedi. But from what I've heard, he deserves this more than anyone.

In a seperate announcement, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that a new Star Wars live-action series was in the works. The show will air on Disney’s recently announced streaming service that is expected to launch sometime in 2019. Again, details on the plot are basically non-existent, but the avalanche of new Star Wars productions is definitely something we’re here for.

Iger also confirmed that Disney is working on TV adapations of Monsters Inc., High School Musical and a new Marvel franchise.
The new Star Wars films and TV series are still a while away from hitting our screens, but luckily there’s a bunch of exciting stuff in the pipeline to tide us over. The Last Jedi is due for release on December 15 and the Ron Howard directed Han Solo film is set to drop next May.
Hell yeah.
