He screamed so loud someone called the cops.
A Perth man whose extreme fear of spiders became an international news story has recreated “the most embarrassing day of his life” for the ABC.
On Wednesday, a concerned neighbour dialled triple zero after walking past Rhys Howard’s house and hearing a toddler crying and a man shouting “why won’t you die?” Multiple police units responded to the call, only to find that Howard was simply trying to kill a spider.
“As I was mashing it, trying to kill it, it was kind of flicking up everywhere, and I was saying ‘why don’t you die’ at the top of my lungs,” a sheepish Howard told the ABC as he demonstrated his spider killing technique.
