Some Sydney Legends Have Found “Proof” To All Those Reports About A “Haunted” Train Station
We need to redo the Logies.
Over the last few weeks, hard-hitting news outlets like 7 News, the Daily Mail and the Telegraph have become obsessed with the question literally no one was asking: is Macquarie Fields train station in western Sydney haunted? (Quick update for those playing at home: no. No, it isn’t.) Taking their cues from the grounded, skeptical individuals who run websites like Urban Ghost Media, news stories have started appearing that breathlessly describe the spooky, spooky ghost apparently roaming around next to the Macquarie Links International Golf Club.
“People have reported seeing a ghostly teenage girl roaming the platform, a dark splatter of blood covering her front,” your eccentric aunt Bev who hasn’t been outside in 15 years writes for the Daily Mail. “Some say they’ve seen her shrieking in terror at some unknown sight, while others have reported that she simply sits in the middle of the tracks and cries and cries… some say they’ve noticed her staring at them.”
“Luckily, nobody has reported any violence from the ghostly girl,” the Telegraph sombrely notes, because of course they haven’t why do you even need to clarify that.
The ghostly hype has built up to such a fever pitch among locals, seven crazy-brave young men went ghost hunting at Macquarie Fields Station a couple of nights ago to see if the rumours were true. The extraordinary footage they obtained, which they quickly posted on 7 News’ Facebook page in the public interest, has clocked up more than 170,000 views already. Be warned: this video is not for the faint of heart.
Horrifying stuff. Reminds one of the terrifying, R-rated documentary Scooby Doo: Hassle in the Castle.
