Fresh from programming Dark Mofo’s ambitious Night Mass, Soft Centre is back for another year in Western Sydney this September — and, judging by its first line-up, it’s going to be huge.

Beginning in 2017 as a necessary work-around of Sydney’s restrictive lockout and nightlife laws, Soft Centre has become a centrepiece of Australia’s experimental electronic music scene alongside Unsound Adelaide.

This year, it returns on September 14 to again transform the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and turn it into an underworld — complete with performance art,  installations and four music stages.

Headlining this year are three international acts: China’s 33EMYBW and Gooooose, both from label Svbcvlt, and Conoglese/Belgian artist Nkisi. A series of Noise musicians will run the Marsden Gallery stage, including Tokyo’s literally industrial-machine using act Defektro, MILAT and Melbourne’s NETTI.

Outside, next to the Georges Rives, DJ and producers from across the greater Western Sydney region, programmed by FBi Radio host Krishtie Mofazzal, will play — including Kilimi and Silm Set‘s DJ Altro, who will debut his first ever solo live show.

The first set of performance acts has been announced too. For more info, head to Soft Centre’s website: tickets are on sale now.
