So, good news for those of us who enjoy watching other people exert endless amounts of energy while we casually sit back on our tattered sofas with two plates of chicken biryani, a cheese naan, and three beers: So You Think You Can Dance Australia — the once popular reality contest that was unceremoniously dumped back in 2010 after its lacklustre third season — is returning to Network Ten in early 2014.

Over the weekend, the struggling network unveiled the revamped series’ new lineup, featuring The Project‘s Carrie Bickmore on hosting duties, and former American Idol nutcase and my pre-pubescent fantasy object Paula Abdul as a permanent series judge, alongside some not really famous but proper dance-y people like choreographers Jason Gilkinson, Shannon Holtzapffel, and Aaron Cash.

The tenth season of the show’s entertaining US version just wrapped up a few weeks ago. I watched it. It featured f**kin’ ridiculous things like this ‘animation battle’:

The local announcement brings with it important questions: Will we ever get our own Twitch? Will screechy old folks Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy make guest cameos? Can Carrie Bickmore make me love any other TV host as much as I love Cat Deeley? Will Paula Abdul become a weekly human highlight reel of crazy things? Also, where will she be living while in our country, and may I please party with her? IMPORTANT QUESTIONS.
