So On Top Of Everything Else, Usain Bolt Is Apparently Really Good At Javelin Too
Showoff.
You know, winning nine gold medals at three consecutive Olympic Games would probably be enough for most people. Not Usain Bolt though. Not content with literally being the fastest human being ever recorded, the Jamaican sprinter is now apparently trying his hand at field events as well, throwing a javelin an impressive if not quite record-breaking 56 metres in front of staff and volunteers at the Rio Olympic Stadium.
Bolt made the throw in a darkened stadium at around 1:30am on Saturday morning. The distance puts him a fair way off gold medalist Thomas Rohler, who threw 90.3 metres for a first place finish during this year’s games. Still, not bad for a first try.
Usain Bolt just threw the javelin 56 meters while messing around with volunteers in a darkened Olympic Stadium. Really.

Naturally Bolt was real humble about the whole thing, revving up the crowd ahead of time with a slow clap, and even asking for an official measurement of his throw.
What a showoff.
