“Last One, I Promise”: Lil Nas X Just Dropped ‘Seoul Town Road’ With A Member Of BTS
Surprise!
Riding till he can’t no more, Lil Nas X has released yet another remix of his chart-busting hit ‘Old Town Road’, this time with BTS member RM.
The remix marks the fifth version of the song: there’s the original, the Billy Ray Cyrus remix, the Diplo remix, the remix featuring Young Thug and Mason Ramsey, and finally, ‘Seoul Town Road’.
Lil Nas X has continually joked about dropping another remix, and Mariah Carey, Dolly Parton and Smash Mouth have all put their hands up to jump on a verse — but it seems like the shrewd rapper has decided to collab with a member of K-pop’s biggest band.
‘Old Town Road’ is currently tied in the US Billboard Charts for most consecutive weeks at number 1 with a Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men song from 1994, ‘One Sweet Day’, and the 2017 ‘Despacito’ remix with Justin Bieber. With one more week, it’ll stand alone — an impressive feat for a queer rapper-country crossover artist of colour who first found fame via a TikTok challenge and a Nicki Minaj fan Twitter account. 2019!
On Twitter, he’s promised it’ll be the last remix. Time will tell.
