There are few animals on the planet as firmly not-majestic as your average seal.
Don’t get me wrong. This is not a seal hate article. I adore seals, those joyous dogs of the sea. Hell, I even own a greyhound, and greyhounds are as close to seals as you can legally own.
I’m just saying, the marine creatures don’t score high when it comes to grace. There’s a reason that they’re best known for, y’know, balancing balls on their nose and clapping rather than hosting high tea parties, or giving their thoughts on Shakespeare. They’re dopes, ostensibly, and I love them for that.
Need more proof? Well, how about this video of a crybaby young seal refusing to swim because the water is too cold?
For two and a half joyous minutes, the young pup tries to convince himself that now is the time to dive into the cold water. But he simply can’t do it. One nose in the water, and that’s enough to convince him that life is better on the land. Hell, at one point, he even falls asleep.
