We’re slowly approaching Australian festival season, so you know what that means: the massive Scene & Heard 2019 line-up is here.

One of the younger festivals in the Australian live music circuit, Scene & Heard first launched in 2018 in Newcastle. But in a mere 12 months, the event is already beginning to flex its sizeable muscles with a few new locations and a lineup that mixes up retro Australian favourites and emerging new talents.

Check it out:

First things first: Wolfmother! How’s that for a blast from the past? The band, led by long-haired lothario Andrew Stockdale, have been relatively quiet over the last few years — their last full-length record, Victorious dropped back in 2016. But looks like the group are getting right back into the swing of things — rumour has it they’re back in the studio, so maybe new material could be on the horizon?

Continuing with that retro theme are sets from You Am I, the Tim Rogers-led rock and roll sad sacks; Eskimo Joe, the superstars behind ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine’; Magic Dirt and Jebediah, ’90s alt-rock behemoths, and British India, who remain one of the shining jewels in the crown of early thousands Aussie rock.

Scene & Heard hits Cairns on Sunday October 27, Brisbane on Saturday November 2, and Newcastle on Sunday November 10, so you’ve got a while to get your festival gear in order.
