But his Twitter account is unbearably pure.

Look, I don’t really know what to tell you, except that the Australian Antarctic Division has officially clarified that actor and national treasure Sam Neill did not take pigs to Antarctica. Alright?

Neill, who you might remember from little films like Jurassic Park and The Piano is currently in the Antarctic, filming a documentary called Unchartedwhich explores the journeys of Captain James Cook. While on this adventure, he seems to be making a photography project by placing two miniature toy pigs in outrageous situations. Why? We don’t know. Perhaps man’s inner nature is inscrutable, or perhaps it’s art. Maybe he’s just a cool weird dude who has some pig toys. Maybe we’ll never know, and this is a mystery that will baffle us forever.

Neill’s photo of pigs in the Antarctic might just be his masterpiece, in that it looks realistic enough to actually fool people into believing that he took some little trotters out onto the icy wastelands at the end of the earth. People were concerned for both the pigs and for Antarctica’s bio-security. It was Pistol and Boo all over again!

Fortunately, the Antarctic Division straightened things out.

Upon further investigation, the only thing that’s truly clear is that Sam Neill may have the most wholesome, pure Twitter account known to mankind. It’s mostly full of him hanging out with the barnyard animals that live at his winery, Two Paddocks. I want to live there too.

If pigs and wineries and big dad jumpers weren’t enough, he has also named a bunch of his animals after other celebrities. For example, here is his duck, which he named after The Weekly host Charlie Pickering.

And here he is with another pig. This one is real, and is named after Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.

God bless you, Sam Neill. God bless you.
