Sarah Palin Is Very Mad She Was Tricked By Sacha Baron Cohen For His New Show

Unwittingly, she's given him a lot of free press.

Sacha Baron Cohen has kept pretty quiet about Who Is America?, his upcoming seven-part interview series premiering this Sunday. Eager to foil the mystery, Sarah Palin has revealed via Facebook rant that she was “duped” into an interview for the series — and she’s extremely NOT MAD about falling for it.

“I join a long list of American public personalities who have fallen victim to the evil, exploitive, sick ‘humour’ of the British ‘comedian’ Sacha Baron Cohen, enabled and sponsored by CBS/Showtime,” she began.

The former Vice Presidential candidate revealed she flew across the US to be interviewed by a disabled veteran, who, spoiler alert, looked a lot like a “heavily disguised” Cohen, “fake wheelchair and all”. Then again, she’s not entirely sure it was definitely him, saying she can only “presume”.

Much like Donald Trump before her, Palin implied that she saw through Cohen’s ruse quickly when the interview wasn’t the “thoughtful discussion” she was there to have. But also, she stayed (and so did Trump, despite what he says).

“Out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform,” she wrote, “I sat through a long ‘interview’ full of Hollywoodism’s [sic] disrespect and sarcasm — but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen’s chagrin.”

We’re sure Cohen was VERY upset, as Palin walking off renders the footage useless, of course, and isn’t what happens in 80 percent of Cohen’s interviews as outspoken rapper Ali G.

Palin has also issued a challenge to Showtime and CBS, the show’s production company, and Cohen, who she calls “shallow Sacha boy” for some reason. She asked them to donate proceeds towards a charity that “actually respects and supports American Vets”.

“Mock politicians and innocent public personalities all you want, if that lets you sleep at night, but HOW DARE YOU mock those who have fought and served our country.”

She also alleged that the production team dropped her and her daughter off at the wrong airport, and did not help amend the mistake. When approached by The Hollywood Reporter, Showtime declined to comment.

In addition to Palin, we know Dick Cheney will appear — in a clip on Cohen’s Instagram, he asks Cheney to sign a waterboard for him. He does, chuckling that the request was a first for him. Then there’s a Twitter video which suggests something to do with the disgraced Trump University.

Who Is America? premiers this Sunday July 15, with episodes streaming on Stan.
