Roxy Jacenko Threatened To Stop Paying Staff Who Dobbed Her In For Unsafe COVID Conditions
"I wonder if I stopped paying the wages of these imbeciles who are making these reports of me apparently flouting the rules they might change their tune…"
In a week when we’ve seen COVID cases hit the triple digits in Sydney, Sweat Betty business woman Roxy Jacenko has been pulled up by the NSW Government, and called her employees “imbeciles” for raising safety concerns.
So she’s threatened to stop paying them. Classy.

In a video posted posted to Instagram, she says she has received two visits from the local police, followed by a letter from the NSW Government addressing alleged “inadequate controls from biological hazards and to manage the risk of infection to COVID-19.”
The SafeWork letter from the State Government reads, “it is alleged that workers are not being allowed to work from home in line with public health orders”.
Jacenko refutes the claims, showing signs pinned around the office about wearing masks in the office, and most desks empty.
She says she has more than 20 staff working from home and is doing the work of “at least 4 myself” and has “had enough.”
“I wonder if I stopped paying the wages of these imbeciles who are making these reports of me apparently flouting the rules they might change their tune,” she posts.
Well, if she stopped paying them because their work hours had decreased, they would be eligible for the Government’s new direct payments.
Today another 97 cases were announced, and the lockdown has been extended for another two weeks. Essential workers in Fairfield are must get tested every three days. Epidemiologists are calling for even tighter restrictions. This shit is serious.
The letter to Jacenko notes, “an inspector will not be attending the workplace to make further enquiries … at this stage.”
