So apparently Lowes in the US is trialling robot store assistants, which is kind of terrifying, and John Oliver thinks that’s a terrible idea. All kinds of weird relationship tension can come to the surface in a trip to a hardware store with your significant other, and a robot might not be able to handle all the intense shit bubbling away between the two of you.
What’s needed is a shop assistant with a vast knowledge of home appliances, a good deal of tact, and a voice like smooth, varnished oak. Enter Parks and Rec‘s Nick Offerman.
