This is seriously ugly.

This post discusses sexual misconduct and physical assault.

Reality TV star, sock designer and oily nugget Rob Kardashian has reached his zenith of dickish, abhorrent behaviour in the last several hours, launching a litany of online attacks against his ex-partner Blac Chyna. Most notably, he’s shared explicit photos of Chyna on Instagram and Twitter without her consent (which, hi, is a crime).

The photos have been removed by the respective social media platforms for violating their community standards, but Kardashian could now face serious charges and even jail time. California is one of few US states where there is precedent for convicting on charges of “revenge porn”, the colloquial term for the criminal act of non-consensually disseminating explicit images.

Kardashian began sharing around 20 explicit images of Chyna on Instagram on Wednesday, accompanied by accusations of her cheating on him with “three guys in three days”. The bizarre tirade includes alleged screenshots of messages between the pair, explicit photos of Chyna in various states of undress (including close-ups of her genitalia) and a video reportedly sent to Kardashian by Chyna of her with another man. Kardashian complained, “I never been so disrespected in my life. I just bought her $250K of jewellery yesterday. This woman is so disrespectful and I don’t care.” Dude. No.

The messages are pretty rough and explicit, and Instagram took steps to remove the explicit images of Chyna, which were shared by Kardashian without her consent, before booting him off the social media platform. Instagram’s nudity policy can feel pretty oppressive sometimes, but I guess it’s times like this when we’re grateful it exists.

Not deterred by having his actions directly condemned by a social media outlet, Kardashian then took to Twitter to share more photos and inflammatory content about Chyna, including claims that he paid for over $100k of plastic surgery for her, and that they had their daughter (eight-month-old Dream) to one-up his half-sister Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend Tyga (who is also Chyna’s ex and the father of her eldest child). The whole thing is truly, unbearably gross and Kardashian needs to calm his disgusting sadboy self right down.

Twitter has also removed Kardashian’s explicit posts, and commenters online are absolutely melting down over the incident. And, look, I know celebrity drama is torrid and exciting and public but… Kardashian is committing a crime and it’s absolutely abhorrent. So let’s focus on that instead of making horrendous comments about how you “can’t housewife a hoe”.

Thankfully there are some people online focusing on the important aspect of this incident.

To make matters more icky and confusing, Blac Chyna clapped back at Kardashian by accusing him of beating her in a series of Snapchats she later deleted. “Rob u did all this but u beat me up and try act it never happen !!!!!” Chyna wrote in the Snap. “U put a hand on me I swear on god !!!!! On my kids but I’m supposed to be quiet because you’re a Kardashian.”

God damn, this is a very gross and bad situation. Reports are flying that Kardashian will face a legal battle for breaking California’s “revenge porn” laws — though law and government bodies are urging the public to discontinue use of the term “revenge porn”, as it is deemed “euphemistic, titillating and narrow“.

In any case, it’s good Kardashian may face consequences for his attack on Chyna, because behaviour like this is awful and inexcusable. But for now, we’ll just have to wait and watch what happens.
