Riz Ahmed Fixed His Wife’s Hair On The Red Carpet And Everyone Is Swooning

Riz Ahmed and his wife, Fatima Farheen Mirza just appeared on the Oscars red carpet in Los Angeles, making their first public appearance since they were married in 2020.

The couple met in a cafe and were married in private during the pandemic in 2020. Mirza is a novelist. She wrote A Place For Us and met Ahmed while he was preparing for his nominated role in The Sound of Metal.

According to Ahmed, telling the story of how they met on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon they “were both jostling over the same laptop plug point.”

Now, people have caught a glimpse of why the pair appear perfect together. On the red carpet at this Sunday’s Oscars, a collective “awwwww” could be heard around the world when Ahmed fixed Mirza’s hair prior to being photographed together.

“I’m the official groomer,” Ahmed says with a laugh, after fixing Mirza’s hair.

Whether or not Ahmed wins tonight, the British Pakistani actor has already made Oscars history with his nomination. Ahmed is the first Muslim and South Asian nominee in the best actor category.

The film itself, The Sound of Metal is nominated for six awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Riz Ahmed), Best Supporting Actor (Paul Raci),  Best Original Screenplay, Film Editing, and Best Sound. At the time of writing this article, The Sound of Metal has won Best Sound and Best Editing.

The film follows heavy metal drummer and recovering addict Ruben (Ahmed) who, after losing his hearing, must learn to be part of the deaf and hard of hearing community. The Sound of Metal is available in Australia to view on Amazon Prime.

Regardless of whether Ahmed wins for his performance, it’s clear he’s won the hearts of millions for tenderly adjusting his wife, Fatima Farheen Mirza’s hair. He got that BHE (Big Husband Energy).
