‘Rick And Morty’ Has Been Renewed For 70 Squanchy New Episodes
RICK AND MORTY FOREVER!
Alright everyone, you can officially stop harassing Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. After months of fan speculation punctuated by the occasional riot in a fast food restaurant, the pair behind Rick and Morty have officially confirmed the show is coming back, inking a deal with Adult Swim for a staggering 70 new episodes.
To put that in perspective, that’s more than double the number of episodes that currently exist.
Harmon told GQ that he was “ecstatic” about the new deal.
“Rick and Morty is definitely the most freeing, most fun thing I’ve ever worked on,” he said. “It’s had the biggest impact. I love everything I make — and hate it, I guess — but I have a very special relationship with Rick and Morty, and getting a 70-episode pickup means that I can actually really focus on it.”
It’s great news for Roiland too, who can finally stop living in Harmon’s shower.
It’s not clear how many seasons Adult Swim has signed up for, or when the first run of new episodes will drop. Knowing these two, it’s still a fair way away.
Still, at least we know it’s happening at ~some point~.
More Rick and Morty coming. Looking forward to all the tweets asking where it is! #theydrawingit pic.twitter.com/KZild3B9rP
