Here Are The Very Worst Films Of The Last Year
Congratulations (?) to the winners.
Who would have thought a movie about emojis would be the worst movie of the year? The Emoji Movie has cleaned up the annual Razzie awards, winning the worst picture, screen combo, director and screenplay categories. It’s the first animated movie to win the worst picture category.
The Razzies — short for the Golden Raspberry Awards — is a joke awards ceremony, held a day before the Oscars each year, which celebrates the worst movies Hollywood has produced in the past year.
“We finally figured out you couldn’t compete with the Oscars on Oscar night, but if you went the night before, when the press from all over the world are here and they are looking for something to do, it could well catch on,” one of the ceremony’s founders, John WilsonWilson told BBC news back in 2007.
Many haters and bullies are telling me that The Emoji Movie was named "Worst Picture" at the 2018 Razzies. This may be true, but what other movie is brave enough to include 5 poop jokes in its opening 10 minutes?

The awards are voted on by paying members of the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation. This year, there were more than 1,000 votes from 26 different countries.
In addition to The Emoji Movie’s spectacular showing at the Razzies, Tom Cruise won the award for worst actor for his performance in The Mummy. Tyler Perry won the worst actress award – he played an old lady in Boo 2: A Medea Halloween.
