As is often the case in life, when you’re confronted with a problem, Pornhub may just offer the solution. After British law enforcement asked YouTube to remove a series of videos by UK rappers back in May, a handful have now been re-uploaded to the porn behemoth.

The 30 videos aren’t from one artist, but a series of artists making drill, a hip-hop genre that began in Chicago but has found its feet in South London. The Metropolitan Police argued the genre’s graphic lyrics incited gang violence, and the move to remove them from YouTube was part of their plan to curb the city’s spike in violent crime.

In addition to removing videos, the Metropolitan Police banned prominent group 1011 (pictured above) from making music or performing without a court order. It stemmed from all five members’ pleading guilty last November to conspiracy to commit violent disorder.

Now, as Dazed reports, a handful of videos, including 1011’s “No Hook” and 410’s “Sparkz”, have surfaced on Pornhub — click at your own risk.

It’s not clear whether the groups have uploaded the videos themselves, but it’s clearly a pointed work-around. The banning has been criticised as knee-jerk censorship that does little to address the youth violence it’s aimed at.

“Drill is the product of a looted world that wasn’t designed with us in mind,” London artist Gaika wrote for Dazed. “[It’s] the result of much more than just a few angry kids on estates, it’s the result of centuries of reality.”

This is far from the first time Pornhub has been used for artistic amnesty. When tickets to smash-Broadway show Hamilton proved near-impossible to buy last year, frustrated musical nerds uploaded the show’s first act to the site. And in 2016, Kanye West fans could find his then-Tidal exclusive album The Life Of Pablo on the site too.

Pornhub also have some skin in the music game. In 2014, they launched their own record label, though it’s unclear whether it actually does anything.
