Please Enjoy This BASE Jumping Dog
Cats are cute, but dogs are evolving.
For reasons best known to himself, a guy called Dean Potter has climbed a Swiss mountain, put on a wingsuit, and jumped into a Swiss valley. Even more inexplicably, he has decided to take his dog along for the ride. Whisper, a Queensland Heeler, is the dog in question, and while she looks a little stressed out, I think we can agree that she handles it like a pro — a precious, cutesy-wootsy pro.
The video, which is sponsored by Adidas, has raised hackles for animal cruelty, with the RSPCA expressing their reservations to The Independent. To be fair, BASE jumping is most people’s idea of a bad time, and people have vocal chords and the ability to say nope. However, Potter took to his blog to affirm that Miss Whisp was a willing participant, saying that whenever he heads out for a climb, “Little Whisper nestles close and begs to come along.”
In the past, Junkee has been accused of pushing an anti-cat agenda, but this video proves that a pro-dog bias is like a pro-David Bowie bias: completely natural and justified.
