This Tenant Filmed The Most Petty Property Video For The Landlord Trying To Kick Him Out
"These plants are all ours. We will be digging them out before we go. Place will end up looking like the Somme."
Early yesterday, a London-based actor shared the property tour video he made for his landlord to Twitter.
And in just 24 hours, it gained over 300,000 likes and 70,000 retweets. This is because it was no normal property video. You see, while Sandy Batchelor followed his letting agent’s request for a virtual tour video of his flat, Sandy made sure the new potential renters would know exactly what they were getting into.
“Our letting agent asked us to make a video of the flat we are basically being forced out of,” Sandy tweeted. “I wish them the very best of luck.”
The two minute video shows off the apartments most desirable features — like the bins placed just outside the living room windows, the fireplace that doesn’t turn on, the outdoor rat problem, the kitchen door that doesn’t work, and the shelves and floors that don’t sit straight.

Along with the truthful tour of what is included in the flat, Sandy also makes sure to note all the things that he brought into the apartment, from the furniture to the plants outside that he plans to rip up before leaving.
Throughout the video too, there are also cute little notes for potential new tenants to read like “DO NOT RENT THIS FLAT”, “YOU WILL HATE IT HERE” and “THERE IS A GHOST, WHOO!”
The petty video then concludes with a shot of Sandy in his fiancé’s bra and undies, showing off the wardrobe in the bedroom — which he notes also does not come with the apartment.

Despite the alleged ban on evictions in the UK, Sandy was still asked to create the virtual tour by his letting agent. As a result of the mid-pandemic request to force him out of his apartment, Sandy chose to find the fun in it by crafting his perfectly petty response, instead of getting angry.
And even though the video tour is perfectly deranged, Sandy is actually looking at the bright side of things. Beyond going viral, he noted that this was all a good thing because his friends have actually allowed him to rent out their flat for a much lower price than he’s currently paying in his seemingly, well, shitty little apartment.
Thank you, That’s really kind of you! We have a couple of amazing friends who are letting us their flat for way less than we are currently paying! So good eggs all round.
