You Can Now Get A Personalised Spotify Playlist For Your Pet
The streaming giant wants to make you a playlist to get your dog to sleep.
Everybody knows that animals love listening to music.
Of course, the actual science isn’t settled on how much your dog likes the reggae playlist you leave for them to chill out to. But that’s because science is wrong and bad. Anybody who’s ever owned an animal — whether it be dog, cat, reptile or bird — knows full well that you’re not meant to leave the house without turning the radio over to Classic FM. It’s like, the law.
Well, turns out that Spotify understand that too. The massive streaming company have just launched Spotify for Pets, a new feature that lets you customize a playlist for your fluffy friends.

Whether you’ve got a hamster, cat, dog, bird, or, uh, iguana, Spotify has you covered. All you need to do is to click here, answer a few basic questions about your pet — are they shy or outgoing, chilled or energetic? — and then the service will build you out a playlist.
Better yet, that playlist is chosen from music that you personally listen to. So in the off chance that your German Shepherd isn’t into the death metal you’ve been jamming to over the last few months, you can just listen to it yourself.
For the record, I used the feature to make a playlist for my dog Ida this morning. It’s got Townes Van Zandt, Arthur Russell, Johnny Cash and Nick Drake. She’s listening to it right this moment, sitting next to me, and she appears to be enjoying it just fine. So consider that the Ida stamp of approval.
