Pepsi Has Pulled That Controversial Kendall Jenner Ad, Which Yeah Fair Enough
Meanwhile, Martin Luther King Jr's daughter just weighed in.

Yesterday Pepsi released a two-and-a-half minute ad in which woke Kendall Jenner single-handedly ended racism by handing a police officer a refreshing can of ice cold Pepsi cola. Pretty cool of Kendall Jenner to do that — fixing society, I mean.
It probably won’t come as a surprise to learn not everyone was on board.

In Pepsi's defense I just gave a cop a can of soda and he immediately made out with me.

Critics have slammed the ad as a cynical, tone-deaf attempt to cash in on grassroots resistance movements such as Black Lives Matter; movements that are rooted in the frustration and anguish caused by police brutality and institutional racism. Now, after mass outrage, the company has responded by pulling the ad and issuing an apology.
“Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding,” said Pepsi in a statement. “Clearly, we missed the mark and apologise. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout.”
They also apologised for “putting Kendall Jenner in this position”, which is weird because it’s not as though she had no choice in the matter. The model and reality TV-star has yet to comment on the matter.
Martin Luther King Jr’s daughter, on the other hand, is all over it:
