Winning things is very nice. So is helping people in need. I think we can all agree on that. Which means we can all agree that the People’s Choice Community Lottery is a great opportunity, because it gives us a super simple way to do both things at once.
This is how it works: you buy a $2 lottery ticket and go into the running to win more than 60 awesome prizes, including cars (!!!), 4K TVs, home entertainment packages, KitchenAid mixers, coffee machines, travel vouchers, high-end sound bars, and laptops.
Actually, there are two cars up for grabs in the main prize draw. You could win a Toyota RAV4 worth $41k or, a Toyota Corolla Hatch Ascent Sport worth $31k.
You’ll also choose a community group to support during checkout, and they’ll get 100 percent of the money from your lottery ticket.
There are more than 700 registered community groups to support from around Australia, including local sporting clubs, schools, charities, volunteer groups, and other not-for-profit organisations. You can give your money to animal rescues, Surf Life Saving clubs, emergency service teams, community art groups, RSL branches, Girl Guide teams, and lots more.
It’s hard to pick just one group to support from a list like that, so People’s Choice Credit Union has made it easy: you can buy as many tickets as you like and support a different group with each one. If you’re struggling to decide, you can always select the official charity partner for this year: HeartKids.
The People’s Choice Community Lottery has been running since 1984 and has raised more than $20 million for groups in that time. It’s like your old primary school raffle, except the first prize is a car. So, just a little bit different in the end, but in the best way possible.
