Gotta admit, I was pretty sceptical about the concept of Ant-Man when I first heard about it. “How can a guy the size of an ant be a superhero? Ants are tiny! Small children kill them for fun. They haven’t thought this through at all,” I thought.

But the new trailer puts my ant-related doubts to rest. Besides Paul Rudd pulling a Chris Pratt and proving that goofy white dudes truly can be superheroes if they just believe in themselves, this thing has everything! Michael Douglas in a vest! Peter Russo from House of Cards as the villain! Paul Rudd getting punched in the face!

Now begins the months-long publicity striptease of teaser trailers, posters, still photos and teaser-trailer-teasers, all of which will be appropriately tiny and insignificant, like an ant.

Ant-Man is in theatres July 17.
