Over the last few months, those ingenious folks on TikTok have turned some of the most significant moments in Australian political history into memes. So now, completing the trend, those on the app have shifted their gaze to Paul Keating, and his all-time classic “I wanna do you slowly” speech.

Yep, just weeks after we got a viral video of Julia Gillard’s ‘misogyny’ speech turned into an empowering banger, Keating’s legendarily barbed bit of invective has gotten the same treatment.

For those who missed it, the moment came back in 1992, when opposition leader John Hewson asked why Keating hadn’t yet called an election.

The answer, mate? “Because I wanna do you slowly.”
