Pass It On: Pomeranian Hates His Stupid New Haircut, Walks Around On Hind Legs For Days In Protest

It’s hard to work out how much of this story is true, and how much of it is a bored person holding a treat above a dog’s head and filming it.

But here goes.

Jin Dan is a pomeranian: a delightfully fluffy breed. But as spring gave way to summer in China, the temperature began to rise, and he was taken to the groomers to get shaved down.

Everything was fine until Jin Dan came home and saw what he looked like. In shock, he stood up on his hind legs, and refused to come down for two entire days.

This video will haunt my dreams.

His owner became increasingly distressed by this behaviour, likely because it is the creepiest fucking thing I have ever seen. She took him to a vet, who suggested the dog had been traumatised by his appearance.

She tried to take him outside for walks. It didn’t work, and was embarrassing for everyone involved.

She tried to put him in clothes for some reason.

That didn’t work either:

Even donning a nice red pair of underpants — so often the last resort of any monumental crisis — didn’t seem to work.

So proud. So brave.

When he got tired, he would simply lean up against a wall.

It took two whole days for Jin Dan to crumble under the weight of his upper body and fall back on all fours.

But it was two days that the internet will never forget.
