A Reddit Hero Has Made It Their Mission To Photoshop Paddington Into Every Film

An immediate improvement for every single film ever.

In case you missed it, Paddington is the most positively reviewed film of all time. No, seriously, the film recently dethroned Citizen Kane on Rotten Tomatoes as the best-reviewed film of all time.

The Paddington Cinematic Universe is a widely beloved film franchise and is only set to become more beloved after Studio Canal shared the announcement of a third film coming in 2022. To celebrate, a dedicated fan of the most wholesome bear is photoshopping Paddington into whatever movie they can think of every day until they forget to do it, and posting daily on Reddit.

Currently, the thread is up to Day 75 and the film still Paddington was photoshopped into today was I Am Legend.  The most popular edits in the thread include the adored bear being photoshopped into Marriage Story, Interstellar, Parasite, and The Avengers.

My personal favourite is the one wherein the user has photoshopped Paddington into Arrival. In the photoshopped still, the adored bear is standing beside a space-suited Amy Adams as she holds up the film’s iconic signs to the aliens.

This time the sign says ‘marmalade’, his famously favourite food.  In short, the thread is pure gold to film lovers and Paddington fans alike.

The Paddington films are based on the stories of the character created by Michael Bond, and star Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, The Hour) as the voice of the titular bear. The two films are also iconic for their villains who are played by Nicole Kidman in the 2014 film and Hugh Grant in the 2017 sequel.

While I do not know this Reddit user personally, I can’t help but feel that they and I are on the same wavelength. I too believe that the vast majority of the cinematic canon could be immeasurably improved with the addition of Paddington.

Paddington could retroactively offset the permeation of toxic masculinity in cinema with his mere visual presence alone. Some films I propose he be photoshopped into include: The Fast and Furious Franchise, Taxi Driver, The Twilight Saga, and Mad Max.
