People Are Roasting the One Nation Party For Their Dismal Election Results
"Even my toilet has more seats than you now"
It looks like One Nation has had their butts firmly handed to them in the Queensland state elections. While counting will continue for a few days, so far the party has failed to pick up a single seat, and people are DELIGHTED.
One Nation senator Pauline Hanson spent much of this week predicting that her party would have a resurgence in Queensland, and potentially gain the balance of power in the state, based off a hypothesised hung parliament result. This has failed to occur, which has led to a rash of roastings online.

Next time you hear One Nation claim it speaks for the silent majority, remember the Queensland results. 88% didn’t vote One Nation. #auspol #Queenslandelection #QueenslandVotes #racismLost

Every ten years or so there’s a short flare up of one nation when it mutates or something but then the immune system seems to kick in.

At the end of counting last night Labor was expected to have won 43 seats, the LNP 38 and the Katter party two. One Nation has received just 12% of all first preference votes so far and its leader Steve Dickson, has lost his seat of Buderim. Former federal Senator Malcolm Roberts, fresh from being ejected from the High Court, has also failed in an attempt to take a state seat in Ipswich.
ZERO seats for One Nation. Well done, Queensland. #qldvotes

If Pauline Hanson is so against dildos why does she keep choosing them as #OneNation candidates?#qldelection #QldVotes2017 #Qldvotes #auspol

However, Pauline Hanson has refused to concede spiritual defeat, and instead spinning hope from the still-dispiriting amount of votes that One Nation has received. As she told reporters last night:
“We are going to be around for a while yet – I’ve still got my Senate seat for another four-and-a-half years, and I do believe that in the vote that we have received across Queensland in this election there is a great potential for One Nation to win Senate seats across Queensland.”
Australia pulled One Nation out of the bin and put them back in parliament. We are the bin chicken. The bin chicken is us. #BirdOfTheYear

While it’s fun to gloat, there are some takeaways from this thorough trouncing, such as making sure that One Nation isn’t overrepresented in the nation’s discourse.
It's time for the press gallery to stop giving One Nation more credibility than the electorate do.#qldvotes#auspol

Sorry to be that guy but given the result in Queensland maybe the media should stop covering One Nation ten times much as they do the Greens. Anyway, have a sick night everyone. Hoo roo.

We can also be sure that One Nation and Hanson will manage to find a silver lining to the dark cloud that has covered their recent election loss.
One Nation didn't win anything concrete but they do get to feel even more victimised, which at the end of the day is what it's all about.
