Oh My God, It Happened: Sophie Monk Is The Next Bachelorette And Fans Are Freaking Out
Dream really can come true.
In news that proves that dreams really can come true, especially if you’re a funny and attractive celebrity, Channel Ten has confirmed that Sophie Monk will be the next Bachelorette.
The idea of the ex-Bardot singer chasing love on national TV first captured our imaginations earlier this month, when she appeared on an episode of The Weekly. In an especially brutal ‘Hard Chat’ segment, host Tom Gleeson asked Monk, who first achieved fame on Channel Seven’s Popstars, whether she wished she’d starred in a reality show “that people actually remember”.
Without batting an eye, Monk replied that she’d love to appear on The Bachelorette, adding that she was “very single”.
Funny joke, right? Turns out no, no it wasn’t. After meeting with her last week, Channel Ten has confirmed today that Monk will be the face of The Bachelorette season three.
Monk, for her part, seems pretty excited about it.
