I believe it was Thirsty Merc’s Rai Thistlethwayte who first uttered the profound words “Take me back to the sweet times”. Sure, Thistlethwayte was singing about an undefined “summertime” of some description but it’s a phrase that feels more relevant than ever especially after watching this video of former US President Barack Obama surprising sick kids with Christmas presents.

Ahh, 2015 was a time wasn’t it? The thought of a President Donald Trump was still a laughable non-entity, climate change was still considered possibly fixable and cool dad Barack was throwing up finger guns, being adorable besties with his VP and generally being a not-insanely-monstrous leader of the free world.

obama and joeOh, you two!

Was it a better time? Yes. Yes, it was. So let us all blithely and irresponsibly ignore the pressing hell that is late-2018 and pretend we’re back there via the endless wholesomeness that is President Obama.

Overnight in the States Barack paid a surprise visit to the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC, not only bringing with him a Santa sack full of presents but some daggy, yet utterly enthralling dad dancing.

Just look at the former POTUS being an actual generous, kind and caring human being unlike the he-who-shall-not-be-named we’re stuck with right now. GOD, WE MISS YOU BARRY! Look at the absolute scenes as he arrives:

Here’s a front on video showcasing Obama’s effortlessly cool and daggy ass festive yuletide dance moves:

Imagine looking down a hallway and seeing a smiling Obama in a Santa hat joyfully singing towards you. Hold onto that thought and cherish it. Let it sit in your frontal lobe for a moment and breathe. Ahhhh…

Folks we’ve nearly made it through another garbage fire hell year so we hope this moment has reminded you that there were better times before and there simply HAS to be better times ahead.
