Today NFL player Jarryd Hayne went to Robina High School on the Gold Coast to teach the students about cyber security and the ways to stay safe online. Hayne, who was joined by a representative of Norton Security called Nick Savvides, was demonstrating to the 200 teenagers in attendance how easily someone can access your browser history.

Then the web security guy accessed Hayne’s browsing history, which was projected on a screen, and all of a sudden there was porn on the screen. “Oh my god!” said the kids. “Ah…” said the web security guy.

(Just a warning: this video is horrendous and if you are susceptible to secondhand embarrassment, it may be lethal.)

Straight away Nick Savvides said that the images had been placed there by someone else who had access to the wifi, because kids do the dardenst things, etc. At a press conference afterwards, he reiterated that: “Its unfortunate and all I can say is it was definitely not Jarryd’s device.’’

Maybe this is true! Maybe that’s why Jarryd Haynes was presenting his phone in desperation, as if to say: ‘See, I’m not looking at porn!’. Well, someone was looking at porn. And these kids will be talking about this lecture for the rest of their high school careers.
