It’s the last thing you check before you fall asleep and the first thing you check when you wake up. You start to see the world through a Snapchat lense – you think ‘that would look great with the right filter’ and see everything you do as an opportunity to take a Snap. If this is you, read on, because you might be officially addicted.

You can’t take a selfie without a filter

You don't even take photos on your normal phone camera any more. Whether it's a more flattering light or a lol-worthy filter, you've forgotten that you could take selfies any other way. Adding a geotag only helps add to the #memz and you'll never go past a few cute emojis to really spruce your Snap up.

In fact filters are an active form of procrastination

You’ve face swapped with everyone and everything and you constantly check for the arrival of new filters. It's so easy to be distracted from studying when your friends are sending you selfies with a raccoon or dog filter. You have to match their hilarious Snap and well, this goes on for a while.

You have convos via snapchat

You check your Snapchat before you check your text messages. You have back and forth picture convos and often the photo becomes irrelevant. You now consider yourself a bit of an artist and have taken to communicating via emojis and drawings instead of words.

You constantly check who has watched your story

You check the viewed list constantly to find out who's checking your story. It's particularly juicy when you see it's your ex or crush's name popping up. You find out your list of creepers who always watch your Snaps and make sure to include them in your personal Snap sends.

You never have any data or battery

The struggle is real when you've forgotten to bring your charger and you can't capture every single moment of your life. You're always low on battery and you constantly go over your data allowance, all thanks to your good pal Snapchat. But you've found ways around it, like taking a snap and waiting until you’ve got free wifi to upload it.

Everyone knows everything about your life

There's no longer any mystery about your life. Everyone who follows you knows absolutely everything that's going on with your life, even the most mundane parts like what you made for breakfast. It's all fun and games until you start drunk Snapchatting and check your story the next morning…

You’re used to pulling funny faces in public

You're not even ashamed any more. You fearlessly pull the ugliest faces in public and continue to re-take these bad selfies again and again. You and your BFFs continue to take screenshots every time so you've built a nice collection of hideous photos to blackmail them with.

You know the intimate lives of celebrities

Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Kim K, Justin Bieber – you follow them all. You constantly check their stories and feel like you know them. You feel a certain privilege that you're the first to know about their personal lives (ignroing the fact they have thousands of followers).

Your story is always at least 120 seconds long

There's rarely a time when your story is under 120 seconds and most of that is just filled with funny filter videos. If you actually do something exciting with your day, your followers better be prepared because obvs you're going to document every single moment.
