The Internet Can’t Handle Nicki Minaj’s New Entirely Cursed Wax Figure
Somebody please tell me who the eff she is.
Madame Tussauds normally get their wax figures pretty spot on.
Bar some pretty janky ones in the past (ahem, Beyoncé and Ariana Grande), Madame Tussaud can often whip up some figures that look like celebrity clones. But unfortunately for Nicki Minaj, Ms Tussaud didn’t quite get it right this time.
This week, at the Berlin branch of the iconic wax figure museum, Madame Tussauds unveiled a new Nicki Minaj wax figure. Although you wouldn’t guess it by the face, the German museum modelled Nicki 2.0 off a scene in her iconic music video for ‘Anaconda’.
While the body and outfit are pretty spot on, it’s very, very hard to figure out exactly who the wax figure is based on by face alone.

Once photos of the truly cursed wax figure made it’s way online, people began questioning who the hell was in the pictures. The knock-off, budget brand Nicki Minaj had people confused and upset.

Some began running through scenarios of what must’ve been going on in the sculptors room during the production of the figure. People suggested that the only logical reasons for German Nicki Minaj is that the sculptors totally went rogue and used no reference photos. Or Madame Tussauds just said “fuck it” and let an intern have a go this time.

While the wax figure had a very slight resemblance to the rapper, there were many things that were off. Not only did people believe the wax figure looked like an older woman, but the skin colour used was called out for making Nicki Minaj whiter than she is.
Some even went so far as to call the depiction of Nicki “racist“, claiming that the wax figure looked more like Kourtney Kardashian than anyone else.
But this isn’t the first time that Madame Tussauds has fumbled a depiction of a celebrity. The cursed wax figure treatment for other big stars like Rihanna, Bèyonce, Miley Cyrus and Naomi Campbell were shared online after the images of Nicki Minaj started to circulate.

These photos just go to prove that Madame Tussaud doesn’t play favourites. They’ll happily fuck your wax figure up regardless of who you are or what you look like.
