‘Netflix Party’ Is Here To Let You Binge-Watch Bad TV And Trash Talk With Your Friends Online
Few things comfort as much as watching absolute dribble with others and barely paying attention, like watching Twilight to mostly make dumb jokes over it. May the long tradition continue in these social distancing days, thanks to ‘Netflix Party’, an unofficial plug-in which lets you stream shit (and yes, not shit) with your friends, internet acquaintances, family and dick appointments.
Provided you use Google Chrome, it’s pretty simple to use.
Download it here, open Netflix, and generate a link to allow your friends to watch with you — a chat room appears, allowing you all to type while watching. They, of course, will need Netflix accounts too. You’ll be able to pause/start the show in unison.
Beyoncé stans have already flooded the service, and a fan stream session of Homecoming, her 2018 Coachella performance, caused the show to trend on Twitter.
If you’d like to support those who made the plug-in, you can support them via Patreon. Happy streaming: may we recommend Candy Jar, or the world’s most perfect film, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!? Sure, it’s not quite as sexy and Netflix and chill, but responsible social distancing is the next sexiest thing you can do.
While we’re on Netflix plug-ins, a random selector might save you hours of scrolling, and a ‘hidden category’ activator will allow you to see the weird and wonderful genres Netflix’s algorithm runs off, such as “campy crime satires” or “irreverent horror movies”.
