Netflix doesn’t want you to go to the movies, hop on iTunes, turn on free-to-air or to leave your house. Yesterday it was announced that in 2017, Netflix will release 1,000 hours of original shows and movies, spending $6 billion. Today we have a glimpse of what some of that piping hot content is going to be.

First up is GLOW, which is a show about a female wrestling league in the 1980s produced by Orange Is The New Black creator Jenji Kohan. GLOW tells the story of Ruth (Alison Brie): a struggling actress in 1980s L.A. who falls into the glamorous and terrifying world of women’s wrestling. It also stars Marc Maron!

The show will drop on June 23.

Now for a kind of weird one. 13 Reasons Why is a show produced by Selena Gomez, based on a YA novel about a teenage boy who is disturbed after his classmate/crush kills herself. Before she dies, the crush leaves the boy cassette tapes listing the 13 reasons why she took her own life. Hm.

This one is out on March 31.

Hey, it’s Brad Pitt! Australian director David Michôd — who directed Animal Kingdom — has collaborated with Netflix on the film War Machine. It’s an “absurdist war story takes on hot-shot General Glenn McMahon, a man caught up in a modern war machine that keeps on churning, seemingly to no end”. Cool!

War Machine stars Pitt, Topher Grace, Tilda Swinton and Ben Kingsley. You’ll be able to catch it on May 26.

Acclaimed director, David Fincher, loves making things about murderers. He bloody loves it! His new original series MINDHUNTER, which is about the psychology of serial killers, looks creepy as hell. It’ll be interesting to see how Fincher’s moody and tension-building sensibilities translate to a TV series.

This one will come out sometime in October.
