Murray From ‘Flight Of The Conchords’ Is Set To Star As A Leg Model In A New Netflix Series
"Murray, present."
It’s almost five years to the day that Flight Of The Conchords sadly departed from our screens. In the series, Kiwi comedian Rhys Darby played lovable Murray Hewitt, manager to musicians Bret and Jemaine as they tried to make it big in the US music scene. Murray’s constant professionalism during ‘band meetings’ and insistence on roll call akin to primary school days were sorely missed after the show went off the air after only two seasons.
Luckily, he’s back. Netflix have just picked up the exclusive rights to Darby’s eight-episode comedy series called Short Poppies. Created by Darby, the “hilarious and quirky mockumentary” follows a journalist around New Zealand as he meets some “not-so-ordinary characters”, all portrayed by Darby himself.
Netflix released this teaser clip yesterday where Darby plays lifeguard and leg model Terry Pole, as he tries to “insure his moneymakers” in the lead up to the “Annual Sexy Legs Contest”.
The series is set for release on April 3. Can’t wait to see those “sexy legs” in action.
