‘Parks And Rec’s Mouse Rat Are Releasing Their Debut Album, And The Tracklist Is Incredible
Put up your 5000 candles.
Mouse Rat, the fictional Parks And Recreation band responsible for such bangers as ‘Sex Hair’ and ‘5000 Candles In The Wind (Bye Bye Li’l Sebastian)’, have announced they’ll be releasing a full-length album later this year.
Pawnee newsreader Perd Hapley broadcast the news on Cameo this morning, saying the group have joined forces again to honour the 10th anniversary of Li’l Sebastian’s passing.
The album, titled appropriately The Awesome Album, will be dropping on August 8 this year — and yes, you can already pre-order the vinyl. As for the tracklist, it contains all the songs you’ll remember from the show, like ‘5000 Candles’, ‘Catch Your Dream’, and ‘The Pit’, and will also see Duke Silver — that is, Ron Swanson — reprising his role as lead saxophonist on a couple of the tracks. It’s being released on Tom Haverford’s fictional Entertainment 720 label (in conjunction with real label Dualtone).
It’s a pity they’re not releasing the album under every single name the band has been known as — including Puppy Pendulum, Foreskin Solution, Just The Tip, Everything Rhymes With Orange, Nothing Rhymes With Orange, and Nothing Rhymes With Blorange.
