Check Out This 92-Year-Old Legend Casually Driving His Motorised Scooter Down The Monash Freeway
He waved at police and told another driver to "fuck off".
A 92-year-old man has been reunited with his family after being picked up by police driving his motorised scooter along the Monash Freeway in Melbourne. And look, I’m not encouraging this kind of dangerous behaviour, but if I’m anywhere near that active when I’m that age, I’ll consider myself very lucky.
Dashboard camera footage of the incident was posted on Facebook by a concerned driver named Bruce, who followed the nonagenarian as he merged into 100kph traffic before driving along the emergency service lane. At one point Bruce winds down his window and tells the scooter driver to pull over — to which the man responds by telling him to “fuck off”.
Bruce then calls triple-zero and tells a very amused operator what’s going on. When the operator asks for a description of the scooter, Bruce replies “there’s only one, they won’t miss him”. Fair enough really.
Eventually a police car pulls over in front of the scooter driver, but not before he gives them a hearty wave.
According to the ABC, the man had been reported missing a short time before, and was later reunited with his family at Glen Waverley Police Station.”
