This Mashup Of Nelson Muntz’s Laugh & M83’s ‘Midnight City’ Is Surprisingly Perfect

And so it is that this week, the internet discovered a TikTok by user @teodomani, which features Nelson Muntz’s twisted and gnarled ‘HAA HAW’ mashed together with M83’s biggest track ‘Midnight City’.
“I don’t know why I did this,” @teodomani wrote in the caption, and we’re not sure either — but all we know is that for whatever reason, the resulting remix works remarkably well. The clip has racked up over 800,000 likes, and viewed nearly four million times, in the time it was posted two days ago. Listen to the mix below, the second clip is a slightly longer version.
In information that will definitely make you feel old, next year will be the ten year anniversary of the French band’s track, which hit #5 in triple j’s Hottest 100 of that year. The song propelled them up the charts around the world, and while they’ve since followed up that album — Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming — with two more, they’ve never quite reached those lofty heights again.
