Mick Fleetwood Has Recreated That TikTok Of A Skateboarder Blissing Out To ‘Dreams’
"Dreams and Cranberry just hits different," he wrote.
Last week, a short but powerful moment of joy arrived courtesy of TikTok user Nathan Apodaca, who uploaded a video of himself skateboarding while swigging from a big bottle of Cranberry juice and lipsyncing to Fleetwood Mac classic ‘Dreams’. Now, Mick Fleetwood has joined in, recreating the video.
Aptly captioned ‘morning vibe’, the original video went viral in no-time — currently, it sits at 21 million views on TikTok alone. Apodaca, who goes by @420doggface208 on the app, was already known on TikTok for his ‘vibing’ videos, where he dances and skateboards to some classic tracks — everything from ‘Dreams’ to Green Day and Avril Lavigne’s ‘Sk8r Boi’.
Speaking to TMZ last week, Apodaca says he made the video when his car broke down, meaning he had to skate to work.
“My car, it just shuts off sometimes,” he said. “The battery ― I don’t know what it is ― just shuts off. I always have my long board in there, in case I run out of gas or something.”
“So I just jumped on my long board [and] I decided this would be perfect for a video. I had my cranberry juice with me, because that’s my drink.”
TMZ report that he’s since received $10,000 in donations from fans, allowing him to fix his car.
The skateboarding video did the rounds on Twitter too, prompting the official Fleetwood Mac account to share it. But now, Fleetwood co-founder Mick has joined TikTok to recreate the video, uploading it with the simple caption
“@420doggface208 had it right. Dreams and Cranberry just hits different”. And so it does.
In the comments, Apodaca called the recreation “dope”, prompting Fleetwood to say they should film something together when “this whole COVID thing is over”. Something to look forward to.
Since Apodaca’s original TikTok went viral, ‘Dreams’ has skyrocketed up multiple charts. According to Rolling Stone, sales were boosted 184 percent from last week, and Spotify reports a 127 percent increase in streams. Those who prefer Apple Music really love the video, with the service reporting a 221 percent increase in ‘Dream”s streams.
Such is Apodaca’s power. Find Mick Fleetwood’s recreation and the original video below.
