The New Season Of Matt Okine’s ‘The Other Guy’ Lands On December 13 & It Looks Very Funny

When the Stan Original Series The Other Guy — the hit comedy starring Matt Okine — debuted in 2017, we instantly fell in love. Now, two years later, we’ve got a trailer for a brand new season.

The first season of the Stan Original series was co-written by Okine and Becky Lucas and is based on his stand-up show of the same name. It followed Okine’s character, AJ, after finding out his girlfriend of 10 years cheated on him with his best friend, and the chaos that ensued thereafter.

With a stacked cast, including Harriet Dyer and Magda Szubanski, the six-episode season drew from Okine’s comedic background and experiences to create an honest and hilarious portrayal of millennial life in Sydney. It was impossible not to love. And now, Stan has finally dropped a trailer for the highly-anticipated second season:

Season two sees AJ making a TV show about the rollercoaster of events of the first season. This time, though, his life is somehow in even more shambles. He’s unemployed, his ex is pregnant with a baby that may or may not be his, and he’s been asked to do a drug test that he absolutely cannot pass.

The trailer is also packed full of everything we loved about the show when it premiered – the awkwardness of new and failed relationships, the beauty of friendship, and Okine being a scruffy, loveable weirdo.

It’s also added Aussies Lily Sullivan as Charlie, AJ’s new love interest, and legend of the Australian screen Claudia Karvan as Miranda, AJ’s new TV producer.

The brand new season of The Other Guy is part of Australia’s biggest ever line-up of brand new Originals brought to you by Stan this summer, with all episodes will be dropping at once for an ultimate binge.
