It’s rare for a week to go by without either hearing a reference to or seeing a picture of the “¿Porque no los dos?” girl. In a world filled with difficult decisions and shades of grey, her simple message of trying it both ways is timeless.
From time to time, people like to check in and see what Mia (her name is Mia) is up to now. In 2015, Buzzfeed’s Alex Lee got in touch with the 14-year-old schoolgirl and had a nice chat about what it’s like to be a meme. From there, she went on to be a finalist in last year’s Young Archibald Prize. Today she chatted with triple j’s Matt and Alex about her life, post-ad, what she’s up to these days, oh and she joined them to make a commercial spruiking triple j’s tune rags and new detachable Legionnaire’s hat, because why not.
In the interview she is incredibly grounded and articulate, and tells the duo about how often the phrase comes up in her every day life — something which she seems to be handling with good humour.
