Marilyn Manson Is Suing Evan Rachel Wood For Defamation Following Abuse Allegations
Manson claims the abuse and assault allegations levelled at him were part of a "campaign of malicious and unjustified attacks."
Marylin Mason, real name Brian Warner, has filed a lawsuit against Wood for defamation today, claiming that the accusations of rape and sexual assault levelled at him by the actress last year, were part of a “campaign of malicious and unjustified attacks.”
The musician filed a suit with the Los Angeles Supreme Court, listing Rachel Wood and Illma Gore as defendants.
Gore is directing an upcoming HBO documentary Phoenix Rising, detailing Wood’s claims of sexual assault and abuse she allegedly experienced by Manson, including being locked in solitary confinement in a “Rape Room.”
Manson is seeking a jury trial for the legal proceedings, accusing Wood and Gore of a range of offences including impersonating federal officers and convincing witnesses to testify against him. Manson’s representatives told Consequence of Sound that accusations against the musician were part of “a malicious falsehood that has derailed Warner’s successful music, TV, and film career.”
“This action arises from the wrongful and illegal acts done in furtherance of a conspiracy by Defendant Evan Rachel Wood and her on-again, off-again romantic partner, Defendant Ashley Gore, a/k/a Illma Gore, to publicly cast Plaintiff Brian Warner, p/k/a Marilyn Manson, as a rapist and abuser,” a representative told Consequence of Sound
Manson’s alleged abuses were documented last year in an explosive investigation by the Rolling Stone. Ex band members like Wes Borland have also spoken out against Manson, with musician Phoebe bridges also relaying a terrifying experience she had with Manson as a teenager.
