The latest is Nelly. You remember Nelly. From ‘Hot In Herre‘ and ‘Ride Wit Me‘, and that time he swiped an ATM card between the butt cheeks of a stripper.
Here he is in a perfect brand/identity symbiosis for ‘Bee Got Swag’, a commercial for Cheerios.
In the 30 second spot, a hither-to-now confident, happy and comfortable-with-himself Buzz meets the rapper, who casually torments him, disses his clothes and appearance, and dresses him instead like a cheap drug dealer. Because, kids! And rap music!
“I’ve worked with some very talented artists and thought – I think it’s about time I work with the Bee,” Nelly has said. “I love the sweet taste of Honey Nut Cheerios and Buzz’s sweet sound on this track. When I hear it, I can’t help but smile.”
