Lunch Club! Grimes’ Intimate Tour Diary Will Make You Feel Like Either Her Best Friend Or A Stalker

Canadian bleepy-bloopy pop musician Grimes, aka Claire Boucher, has always championed an open dialogue with her fans. Her tumblr is all personality, famously full of lighthearted tidbits (like her grandma’s chocolate chip cookie recipe), alongside insightful screeds on issues like sexism in the music industry and her deepest fears and insecurities.
In that same spirit comes this intimate video, uploaded to YouTube today by her reported boyfriend, fellow Canadian musician James Brooks, aka Default Genders.
Capturing their tour around the European and US summer festival circuit, the video includes some great behind-the-scenes and side of stage clips from the MTV VMAs (including Vampire Weekend hanging out with One Direction and Miley’s pink teddy bears), cameos from Haim and Angel Haze, lots of shots of hotel rooms and airport runways and bus windows, and some touching moments of ordinary coupledom, like at the six-minute mark when Grimes yells at James to turn off the camera because he’s wasting the battery (we’ve all been there).
