People Trying To Capture What Their Eyes See While Tripping On LSD Is Stupidly Funny
Famously, what we see with our eyes isn’t always the same as what cameras pick up.
LSD is a drug known for its powerful hallucinogenic properties that distort the way you see things in the world.
But famously, what we see with our eyes while tripping isn’t the same as what cameras pick up. That’s kinda the point. However, the people in the LSD sub-Reddit haven’t quite wrapped their head around that idea just yet.
Described as a “kind, open-minded community dedicated to Lysergic Acid Diethylamide,” people use r/LSD to share their thoughts before, during and after tripping. But Twitter user @talltail has discovered that some actually use the sub-Reddit to share the photos taken during their acid trips too.
“Comedians can quit their jobs now because they’ll never be as funny as an r/LSD post,” he tweeted with four photos from the group.

The first “trippy” pic was literally just a photo of a persons hand that they captioned, “holy shit”. One can only assume that they were seeing more than five fingers and wanted to document the spooky event. The other photos included some very plain looking floorboards, dirty clothes heaped into a pile, and a boring old roll of paper towel.
Not Just LSD, But Ambien Too
After the original tweet went viral, @talltail decided to share some mores gems from the LSD sub-Reddit. “Can’t believe my eyes, life is just beautiful,” one tripper said about a dirty titled floor. “Found myself always going back to this,” said another about an old window.

The photos inspired others to start digging for other totally normal photos, including a dog literally just sitting down and someone’s own shadow.
