Lorde Just Dropped The First Single From Her New Album And People Are In Love
"Did it frighten you how we kissed when we danced on the light up floor?"
About time!
After what feels like forever (but has actually been around three years), we finally have new music from Lorde. The singer-songwriter dropped ‘Green Light’, the first single from her upcoming second album, earlier this morning, and let’s not beat around the bush any longer than we have to.
Chills.
The reaction to the track online has so far been incredibly positive, hooray!
Oh my Lorde

A tweet isn't ever going to be enough to help me say how thankful I am for what @Lorde just did for pop music in 2017. You too @jackantonoff

The 20-year-old also revealed that her new album would be called Melodrama and shared the breathtaking cover art via Instagram.
Speaking to Beats 1, Lorde said the song was about “that drunk girl at the party dancing around crying about her ex-boyfriend who everyone thinks is a mess. That’s her tonight, and tomorrow she starts to rebuild.”
Of her long break between albums, Lorde told the program “for me it was kind of about processing what I wanted to say next. I knew it just couldn’t be any old thing. It had to be really special and really singular, and it couldn’t sound the same as the old stuff.”
