Lorde Covered ‘Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole’ In The Pouring Rain And It’s Perfect

Lorde didn’t have the best of luck with shows over the weekend. Her headlining slot at Lollapalooza was cut short after only three songs, after dangerous weather caused the festival to evacuate. Two days later it looked like could happen all over again, when Montreal’s Osheaga Festival was hit by similar conditions.

But luckily, the weather held off just enough for Lorde to step up for her set — and thank god for that.

In the middle of the set, Ella took a break from her Melodrama tracks to deliver an acoustic cover of Martha Wainwright’s classic kiss off ‘Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole.’ Between her voice, the pouring rain and that dress, it might be the most perfect Lorde moment yet.

It wasn’t the only surprise the New Zealand singer had in store — she also pulled up Swedish pop singer Tove Lo to help her through ‘Homemade Dynamite’, the Melodrama track Tove Lo co-wrote.
