Watch This Husband And Wife Survive Lockdown By Facing Off In A Series Of Lip Sync Battles
Nothing Compares 2 U.
Married comedians Rachel Parris and Marcus Brigstocke have figured out a new way to pass the time in lockdown, by dressing up and facing off in an ongoing lip sync battle.
With the events of the past few weeks, lots of people find themselves in the unusual situation of being at home with lots of spare time on their hands. While some people are taking the time to lie around in bed, watching TV, and eat chips (just a random example definitely not based on me), other people are coming up with more creative ways to spend their time. Enter married comedians Marcus Brigstocke and Rachel Parris. Some of you might know Parris from her work on The Mash Report, and the time she went viral for a great segment on sexual harassment. The showdown all started with Rachel kicking things off with ‘Trouble’ by Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson.
We’re okay.
We’re fine.
This is going okay.@rachelparris and I passing the time…

Marcus then took the “white people lip sync to rap music” challenge, giving us some of the Fresh Prince.
Right…
Well…
Here’s MY response to @rachelparris lip synch yesterday.
We’re fine (honestly). pic.twitter.com/pwxQGXt1WZ— Marcoooos! (@marcusbrig) April 3, 2020
Rachel then did a personal favourite song of mine (so she wins), ‘Hold On’ by Wilson Phillips.
Round 2…@rachelparris rockin’ some Wilson Phillips.
We’re fine guys. All is well. pic.twitter.com/kIylqLXAHi— Marcoooos! (@marcusbrig) April 4, 2020
To which Marcus responded with ‘Power of Love’, an old-school bop.

Here it is… Round 2!
The POWER of Love!#Lipsyncbattle.@rachelparris played an ace yesterday. So here’s my reply.

My favourite however was the fourth round, when they two got into the music I’ve really been getting into during isolation – sad, sad, sad songs. Rachel did Celine’s ‘All By Myself’, which is extremely appropriate for some of us.
IT’S ON; Round 4 of #lockdownlipsync ; this Round;Tearjerkers. Here’s a very isolation-appropriate #AllByMyself by @CelineDion. #thosedaysaregone What’ve you got @marcusbrig ?! #lipsync #lipsyncbattle pic.twitter.com/a1TlVBJe59

And Marcus followed up with the beautiful Sinéad O’Connor song ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, which was written by Prince.

I’m assuming the battles will keep coming for as long as lockdown endures, so pick your fighter (Team Rachel) now, and if nothing else you can enjoy how beautiful their house is.
